D-ID Jeans, Founded in 2013, Jimmy Taverniti is a man inspired. When he talks of his loves – fabric, 70s music, Japan, vintage stores – the pleasure is so great that he shifts from being quite considered in his second language, English, into fast-paced French.
Denim, it’s in his blood. Collecting jeans since his teens, in the 80s he pioneered the garment dying process.
Throughout his career and all of the incarnations and offshoots of his brands, there is one thing that has been consistent, it’s his idea of what denim should have, and that’s “a strong identification.”
D-ID (an acronym for ‘Denim Identity’) “for me, is denim that is very different. It’s luxury denim, not just basic denim. She buys these jeans because she is different; it’s soft when you wear it. “You want them to look modern. Today, this is important."
